  1. Side part the classic look, part on your normal side
  2. Deep side part – flip it up and over to the other side for va-va-volume
  3. Centre part – keep it sleek and chic with a middle part
  4. Part it forward – take your side part, but instead over flipping your hair over, flip it forward to create a sweeping side part
  5. Pin back – Create a quiff by pinning back the front layers, backcomb a little for volume if you like that sort of thing
  6. Top knot – create a mini loop bun with the top layers of your bob
  7. Curl it – take a mini curling wand and add in some curls for texture
  8. Curl it forward – create a deep side part and create a faux-fringe with your curls
  9. Curled quiff – Use that texture from the curls to pin back your top layers, great for second day hair

How to get this cut

At the salon, ask for a blunt, chin-grazing bob. Ask for your hair to be cut with a centre part to give more versatility in styling.

The blunt bob suits straight to wavy hair and is best for fine to medium thickness hair.

If your hair is curly or thick, get your stylist to add in some layers so you don’t end up with an awkward triangle shape in the finished style. Personally I love this haircut but it will never suit my hair type. I tried it once and totally had the triangle. Curls look great in a bob but you need more shaping. A blunt cut is not for curly girls.

Have you recently cut your hair too? What’s your favourite way to wear a blunt bob?
