Wedding hair inspiration – one headband, three ways

Often the simplest styles are the best.

If you’re looking for wedding hair inspiration, these classic styles may be just what you’re looking for. They’re easy enough for you to DIY your wedding hair.

Inspired by this beautiful headband sent to me by Jennifer Behr, I’ve created 3 simple looks you can do in your own hair.

This headband is so pretty that it lends itself to weddings or formal occasions, however you can adapt these looks to other accessories. This could really work for a boho hairstyle or for festival hair too.

Look 1: Halo headband

It couldn’t be simpler than just tying the headband around your head. I like to brush my hair slightly forward and place the headband in a halo position, very close to my hairline.

You can use a couple of bobby pin to anchor the headband in place, though this is elasticated so sits comfortably.

Look 2: Half-tuck halo

This second look is perfect if you don’t like your hair in your face. Like the Halo headband, you brush your hair slightly forward, then tie the headband sitting on your hairline.

At the back of your head, place the headband just below your occipital bone (that’s the bone you can feel that sticks out at the back of your head). This bone helps your headband stay in place.

Then take small sections of hair from the front and loop them up and over your headband, pulling the ends through. For extra staying power, you can use some hairspray or bobby pins through your headband.

Look 3: Headband rolled updo

Inspired by my chic rolled updo tutorial, this style is a classic.

To me, it has a vintage feel though this style can also be very modern. Your choice of accessory makes all the difference.

Following on from the half-tuck, you keep taking small section of hair and rolling them up and over your headband, pulling the ends through. At the back, you keep tucking your hair in to form the roll.

This style is perfect for hot days and keeps your hair looking chic all day. Some hairspray and bobby pins will make sure it won’t budge.

An accessory a day keeps bad hair days away

One of my secrets to beating a bad hair day is to distract from your hair with a hair accessory. You are guaranteed to beat all bad hair days with these simple styles.

Shop the look with my fave headband finds. I know Jennifer Behr are super pricey so I’ve also found some bargains.
